I had previously filed npm/public-api#6, but that repo seems to be gone.

Therefore I'm filing this issue to request that the enhancement/bugfix in npm/public-api#6 be considered.

For additional context on how this enhancement/bugfix will help tools like package-json, please see sindresorhus/package-json#9

This would also help reduce the amount of data requested by renovate
