Exception handling #12

Ensure that the application doesn't crash when it encounters an exception.

It still crashed in case of an exception propagating all the way to the QApplication level. But this is intended and now leads to a proper traceback and notification for the user with e9823bd45d15d5b6f85422c10b194ddd4d5b934d.
