Coloured text in {ggplot2}: {ggtext} vs {marquee} | Nicola Rennie

An alternative to a traditional legend is using coloured text in a subtitle. In {ggplot2}, we can do this using the {ggtext} package. You can also do it using the new {marquee} package. How do they compare?

Great breakdown! And the vec matching is another trick I'm going to have to borrow.

Great article, thanks! Is it just me or does the font of the marquee version look a bit weird compared to the rest of the plot font??

Yes, @davidhodge931. I also thought it looked like a slightly different font/spacing. Although I've also sometime had a similar thing with {ggtext}.
