Hi @nschum,

I've noticed this package isn't really actively being maintained. No offense, because I know how it goes. But I am offering my help to maintain this package, if you are interested.

Hi,

@milkypostman, this project has been unmaintained for over five years. Would you please direct us to the correct MELPA process is for salvaging/adopting?

I'm the maintainer of the Debian package of auto-dictionary-mode, and we're approaching the deadline for adding new features to our stable release. It would be nice to have support for the languages mentioned in existing PRs and issues, namely Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Polish, and Dutch. Ideally it would also be nice to see a new tagged release.

@To1ne, if you'd like to review and fixup the existing PRs I'd be happy to merge your work into the Debian package. Hopefully @nschum will notice the activity and resume maintenance!

Thanks, Nicholas

@sten0 I've switched to https://github.com/tmalsburg/guess-language.el quite some time ago. So I'm sorry, I'm longer interested in this package.

Does anyone have right to write this repository? @johannes-mueller ?

I don't, sorry.

@johannes-mueller @813gan Personally I've switched to https://github.com/tmalsburg/guess-language.el which seems to be fairly more actively maintained.

@sten0 https://github.com/melpa/melpa/wiki/Unmaintained-Packages-and-Forks contains a guide for what MELPA considers for forks or unmaintained packages.

Hopefully this helps.
