Hello, I recently bought a non official version thinkpad laptop at a very cheap price, which is used for prelaunch testing. I also found the " Ignore Policy Update"option in the BIOS, unfortunately, i also made my computer brick and i didn't back up the BIOS. How did you solve this problem in the end? I really wish I had read your article before i changed setting.

Tengan buen día espero puedan apoyarme. Tengo una laptop igual pero se puso lenta, eh querido colocarle un disco sólido para seguir usándola lo raro y no entiendo es que logró instalar sistema formatea normal el SSD y cuando la apago y vuelvo a encenderla ya no arranca. Me envía directo al abismos del equipo y no logro que vuelva a arrancar. Ya probé con varias configuraciones para que pueda leer el disco pero no. No reconoce el SSD. Cuál será la recomendación que me puedan dar

At the bottom of the blogpost I added an update:

Update 10/13/2021 @RockerFernando reached out to me with some additional details. Apparently there are Gateway-branded laptops that have the same BIOS as the ONN-branded laptop. Like me, he had bricked his laptop by setting the same BIOS option. I was pretty sure that by resetting the NVRAM we could restore our laptops to a usable state, and @RockerFernando went and figured out how to do this. If you open the chassis and disconnect the battery, or simply wait a few months until the battery is totally dead, and then hold down the power button for about a minute, you should be able to reset NVRAM thus clearing the faulty configuration value. Thanks @RockerFernando for the tip!
