At the least, the netgear version checks /etc/htpasswd rather than using the more normal /etc/passwd and friends. However, we have modded the system to set the information up in /etc/passwd now, so an unmodded version should work. However:

login works out of the box, it is using /etc/passwd. As long as that is maintained then all is good , and it seems to be stable. This is then marked as working, other issues which arise will be to do with password management, not busybox.
