Hydrogen not working full stop (nothing happens when any command in packages > hydrogen... is run) #2134

Prerequisites

Checked troubleshooting guide and open issues, my issue cannot be found there.

Description

Hydrogen not at all working. Having tried reinstalling again and again using both apm and atoms UI package installer, nothing is running. If I go to packages > hydrogen > toggle kernel monitor for example, nothing happens. Same thing with every other command. The only command that does something is "Import Notebook" but all that does is open the file manager window like usual, then once something is selected to open, the window disappears and nothing opens. Tried using many different kernels (anacodas python, just through python3 etc)...
