In many dialogs disconnecting the device will cause hangs or other bad behavior #105

This problem seems to be getting worse, perhaps simply because the increase in the number of features. In most cases I think the right solution is to close all dialogs and show only the main window with the "no device connected" message

This bug is too broadly defined. The number of dialogs is being reduced already which should help this. A lot of additional testing will be done before 1.0 which will give a chance for this to be split into multiple issues as needed
