Statement of Purpose:
[x] Describe your motivation, preparation and aptitude for PhD study in neuroscience.
[x] Please include a description of your prior research experience and accomplishments, with enough detail (for at least one project) to illustrate how you think scientifically.
[x] You should also discuss your future research interests and career goals and why you think Berkeley is a good fit for your PhD training.
[x] The SOP should be 2-3 double-spaced pages.
Personal History Statement:
[x] Describe how your personal background and experiences influenced your decision to pursue a graduate degree.
[x] Do not duplicate the SOP but provide broader context on your personal story and goals.
[x] This may include how you:
[x] overcame barriers to access higher education
[x] how you have come to understand the barriers faced by others
[x] your service to advance equitable access to education for under-represented groups
[x] research you may have done that focuses on underserved populations or related issues of inequality

Top applicants will be invited to one of two virtual interviews visits scheduled for January 29-30 and February 12-13, 2024. During the visit, candidates interview with 5-8 faculty members and interact with current graduate student.
Official admission offers are sent to successful applicants by early March.
Applicants that are recommended for admission and waitlisted are invited for an in-person visit March 17-19, 2024.
