Who says issue trackers can't be forums. Comments not about Linux on Surface will be eaten by a giant space shark (moderated).

To kick things off, I've a short questionnaire for everyone:

Hello everybody! First let me thank you all for the help and guides you provided to get Linux running on the SP3! I would like to share my experiences that I made when installing Manjaro Linux on the SP3. In summary: Yes it works, you can do the basic stuff. However the HiDPI and typecover issues prevent me from making it my main system. If you're interested, you can read more here: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=19482.0 And why I did it? For me, the SP3 is the best combination of tablet and laptop so far. When using Windows on it, it really shines for me. Lightweight enough and still powerful. Just removing the keyboard and continue reading on the couch is awesome. But a little bit overpriced. And yes, you can save this.

As a head's up, due to some portability and setup / teardown time frustrations, I've started working on a Yoga Pro 3 primarily instead. There are things I prefer about both devices and I've not made a hard decision either way.

Forked another guide https://github.com/nuclearsandwich/yoga3pro-linux and am slowly building it out.

Does anyone have interest in a GitHub organization for these devices?

Has anybody managed to get the lower pen button working? I've only managed to use the upper side button.
