Feature Request: Show platforms by Icons / Pictures intead of text. #22

There are lots of great platform pictures available under creative commons license on Wikipedia for most game consoles and computers emulated. The idea would be to take these pictures to make the first page of the platform selection more graphical. (again, could be turned off/on).

If pictures are not appropriate, using beautiful platform icons could be another option to look at. This is relatively easy to implement since PNG is supported natively with Cairo. I can give ideas of the layout if you are interested.

The trick is integrating this into existing design and metaphors without forcing a redesign (or parallel design), though that may be necessary to make it worthwhile. Layout ideas welcome.

I haven't done that yet, but it's still on my mind and I will try to propose something by December.
