Allow underscores in variable names? #255

The underscore character used to be used by i-assess as part of its wicked scheme for putting two things next to each other. Since it isn't needed for that any more, should we allow underscores in variable names? It would help legibility of long wordy names; e.g.g number_of_tries looks better than numberoftries, in my opinion.
