It seems that restarting gnome-shell with your theme (and not switching from the default one to yours without restarting gnome-shell) and waiting a bit makes the thing less laggy (and like gnome 3.10).
Sorry for this useless issue :-°
Nope, definitely more laggy :p
Edit : I think it's the mix of colors in the overview panels which makes the animations lag. If I set these panels almost totally transparents, it's smooth, and if I almost disable the transparency, it's smooth too.
Hmm... I use Gnome 3.12 too, but it's not laggy here. But may be because I don't have a video card. Also GNOME Shell has very poor support for theming. I don't think I'll be able to optimize it more for performance in case of complex setups :(
I see. It's not laggy on my laptop too, which has a sandybridge i5, with some "no-tearing" options in my xorg.conf. But with the same drivers, with a Nvidia card, it's more laggy than with 3.10. I don't know if the gnome-team made some modification to clutter, but I hope some future nvidia drivers will improve this poor 2D acceleration :(
So thank you for your answer, I have tweak my theme configuration so it's smooth again, even if I had to do some compromises !
Hello, I love your theme and the customizations it permits, but it's laggy with my configuration on Gnome 3.12. I think it's because of transparency, but the default theme has also a lot of transparency and is very smooth, so I don't really understand.
