Pixel Style Symbols

This is a discussion thread about how we integrate pixel art symbols into the Numix themes so that they look consistent with what we have elsewhere. We've achieved this for some icons pretty well where the original design is simpler (e.g. #5209) but for a lot it's quite questionable (#2243, #4472, and most recently #5198). What are people's thoughts?
