The same here (both with Firefox 3.0.x and 3.5) on Gentoo Linux. I cannot toggle
editing mode or open the configuration dialog. On the other hand, CYW works
well on
another machine with Windows. Might this be an OS issue?

Thanks for your feedback. I've tested CYW on Ubuntu 8.04 and everything is fine.
@neodrex: Could you please give me detailed information about your OS and
browser
version. Thanks!

I tried it now on Mandriva 2009.1 as well, and CYW works fine. On Gentoo it
still
doesn't, even if I use the binary Firefox downloaded from mozilla.com, not the
one
that was compiled on my machine. So it seems that it is not Linux per se,
rather
something with the distribution (or with specific user settings for Firefox?).
By the way, I can open CYW's configuration dialog from the add-ons list, but
not
from the status bar icon or directly from Tools menu. What I see is that no
shortcut keys are assigned (toggle editing etc.), and I don't seem to be able
to
assign them: when I click the 'key combination' field, it turns red, but does
not
recognize any keys I press.

Thanks for your feedback.
Ok, Gentoo seams not to work.
Again, I tested everything under Ubuntu 8.04 and it worked fine.
So it seams to be an OS issue.
Can you have a look in the error console if there are entries (first you have
to turn
on error logging in the about:config --> javascript.options.showInConsole=true)
and
paste the content into this issue (via the context menu)
Thanks!

OK, there is something totally wrong in the initialization process.
I will try to setup Mandriva and have a look what's the reason for this problem.

Sorry, I have not made it clear in my previous comment that this is what
happens on
Gentoo; Mandriva works!

The same thing occurs also on ubuntu 8.10 - firefox 3.0.11 with installed
addons:
adblock plus 0.7.5.5, LeechBlock 0.4.2.2, Mouseless Browsing 0.5.2.1, NoScript
1.9,
WebDeveloper 1.1.6.

So it seems that the problem is not Gentoo-specific. As for other installed
addons:
even if I disable all of them, CYW still doesn't work.

I've uploaded a new version to my website
http://www.mouseless.de/index.php?/content/view/40/60/ (at the end of the page)
Could you please check whether the error still occurs. Thanks

With the latest build it seems to work now - I can toggle editing mode, editing
itself works as well, and the configuration dialog can also be opened. So the
problem seems to be solved, thank you! I will report, of course, if I still
find
something not working.
