UG: lack of guide on the layout of the app #362

Note from the teaching team: This bug was reported during the Part II (Evaluating Documents) stage of the PE. You may reject this bug if it is not related to the quality of documentation.

The app layout is quite complicated with many different panels and the view changes many time depending on the command. In UG there were some, but not enough places where the different components of the layout were introduced for user to understand.
