Error in message for money with more than 2 decimal places. #2481

Open nus-pe-bot opened 1 year ago

We are unable to enter a certain amount of money with more than 2 decimal places. This is possible when we owe somebody a certain amount of money due to recurring interest.

Additionally, we do not have a meaningful error message telling us what the issue is.

Team's Response

Since there are 2 bugs reported, we will only consider the bug encapsulated by the title description: "We are unable to enter a certain amount of money with more than 2 decimal places."

The User Guide says:

This corresponds to prices of everyday items that a university student may purchase, where there are no fractional cents.

The suggested scenario where someone owes you recurring interest does not apply to our target user profile, which is a university student. We do not anticipate nor condone university students using PayMeLah for loan shark purposes.

Even if more than 2 decimal places are recorded for a debt, there are no conventional payment apps that allow the transfer of amounts more precise than 2 decimal places.
