Thanks for your suggestion, however, I believe that this is a very niche issue that would not affect out target audience, Professors in charge of students in SOC.
For example, in our first introductory module to computing, CS1101S
, we were made to mark out recitation attendance with a telegram bot @CS1101SBot
.
Additionally, many core modules such as CS2100
, CS1231S
require their students to join a mass telegram chat. I find it hard to believe that a student in SOC does not
have a telegram account. In the worst case scenario, the Professor, can just be a random string or something like @notelegramuser
if such a scenario were to occur.
Thus, we believe that this is not a feature flaw.

There might be some student which doesn't have any telegram account. As a result, user can't add this student to the app as it is required to fill the telegram handle.
