Team's Response

First of all, thank you for reporting this feature flaw and we believe it is beneficial to implement this in a future iteration.

However, this feature flaw is considered as not in scope as it is fine to only implement it in a future iteration, due to the fact that it is less important than the current work already done for its implementation. It also satisfies the second condition in the image below, where the user cannot attempt to add a foreign phone number with a country code to an internship application. An error message telling the user that the phone number should only contain numbers is shown to the user, and the software does not crash.

The corresponding guidelines for triaging bugs from the module website is attached below.

The user guide also specifies that the phone number should consists of at least 3 digits, and there were no mentions of any support for special characters.
