Thank you for raising this issue. If you have carefully read our planned enhancements, we have clearly indicated that in the future iteration, we will be working towards making a person unique in CampusConnect, which in this case, considering how names that appear semantically the same should be acknowledged by our program. However, as of now, due to time constraints, we forgo this current problem we noticed. Moreover, it is also very likely that you can have contacts of the same name although very rare. We feel that the problem of duplicate names appearing should be of less severity since as aforementioned, names are not necessarily unique.

Since Jane Doe and Jane Doe is extremely likely to be the same person, perhaps it would be best to remove extra whitespaces and do name detection from there. Or maybe a warning can be given.
