See this video. Sometimes if the user accidentally misclicks some picture it will direct them to a separate web page, which is very unnecessary. In some cases, it will greatly affect users' reading experience.

We feel that this is a non-issue, because: 1) The UG in production is meant to be accessed through the website 2) That is a source to the image 3) Most people only scroll when reading the PDF 4) Most PDF readers have modals to check whether the user wants to be redirected
