Phone number restricts to single input #1771

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enter " id/E7654321 n/Betsy Crowe t/TA e/betsycrowe@example.com p/1234 5678 p/1111-3333" in the command panel image.png

Expected: Able to save the two different phone number.

Actual: Error message is shown in the response panel stating "Multiple values specified for the following single-valued field(s): p/" instead.

Reason: Restricting phone number input to a single entry may limit users’ ability to provide multiple contact numbers, potentially hindering communication.

Team's Response

While having multiple avenues of communication is nice to have. After consideration, we feel that often teaching staff and students only require one primary contact to reach their intended recipient.
