A hospital app would make a little more sense to have all searching done with a singular command #1905

While it is well documented that list only supports tag and ward functions, and find for IC and name.

I am curious as to the reason for making these 2 commands distinct, because it could possibly be confusing for new users to understand that there 2 different commands serving a similar purpose

As mentioned in the User guide, this is as intended. We have attached the relevant FAQ question here for your reference:

Q: What is the difference between list and find? A: The list command allows you to retrieve multiple contacts, for which they are all useful. In contrast, the find command is used to retrieve a specific useful entry. This is designed to ease the mental fatigue of nurses. For example, nurses may be required to “find patient John Doe”, or provide a “list [of] all patients with flu symptoms”. With these two features, nurses can simply key in the request.
