Hello! Thank you for bringing up this issue :). When planning the app, we did consider this. However we decided against this because the general convention for assigned sex at birth is to use M or F. According to this website (https://www.pampers.com/en-us/pregnancy/pregnancy-announcement/article/what-determines-the-sex-of-a-baby), what determines the gender of a person is the Y chromosome. Having different combinations of the chromosome does not affect the categorisation of a person's sex.
Allowing for more categorizations of sex beyond medical convention could inadvertently confuse the users, since they now have to remember a ClinicMate specific way of displaying information that is not used standard practice=. Therefore, we dont think that there will be a need (and is possibly detrimental) to add more sexes to the current M and F.
Additionally, if a patient has something like Klinefelter syndrome(XXY), it is more appropriate to record this in a note than try to capture more information in sex.

Some people are intersex, having other combinations of chromosomes other than the usual XX or XY. The sex field in this app is limited to
M
andF
which does not support tracking this information.[original: nus-cs2103-AY2324S2/pe-interim#678] [original labels: severity.Low type.FeatureFlaw]
