Restriction on year in the period field limits real-world applicability #3572

image.png Problem: It was stated in UG that only year between 2000 and 2500 is accepted, which prevents users who have applied before 2000 from keeping their records. This limits real-world applicability of the app.

Suggestion: Consider allowing any year up to the current year in the period field.

Team's Response

First of all, our application is meant for students to apply internships. If you had applied before 2000, chances are, you are not even a student anymore and is a middle aged man who is not in our target audience. Secondly, I don't think there is high value in keeping old internship application records from over 20+ years ago, because chances are, the role isn't even open anymore and you wouldn't really be looking back at your 20+ year old application records when you should maintain a cleaner list of upcoming and current applications
