Do take note that the beef entry has the same name and expiry. But you have to take note that the price of these two entries are different. One $13.5, One $70.

With two different objects, how to even merge them together?

It is also stated in the notable behavior that only same name(case-insensitive), same price and expiry will be merged together.

In the UG has stated that the price is the unit cost of a single quantity of an ingredient.
