Misleading error message #631

When a malformed command is typed in, the error message says a failure to connect to API while its true cause was due to a mistake in user input.

Downgrade in Severity:

This is not a bug. See rejection.

Rejection

In such a scenario, there is indeed a failure to connect to the NUSMods API. The second line, 'This could either be because the mod does not exist, or due to a connection error', explains it. The module a does not exist on the NUSMods API.
