Let this issue remain open for reference. Once ~the~ a library is approved, it is approved for everyone in the class.

The use of "the" seems to be confusing. The first half of the third sentence implies that the library is pending approval, which contradicts with the approval which has already been given. I think this would be more appropriate for phrasing the third sentence.

Once ~the~ a library is approved, it is approved for everyone in the class.
