The one person who was not there when I discussed the poster got arrowed to design it? 🤣
Static HTML report --> Interactive Online Report?
Use the brand color Green in the project name (and in more places in the poster so that people will associate the color with the project)? Also limit the number of colors used in the branding elements such as the project logo. In fact, limit the number of colors used in the whole poster. e.g., all callouts can be same color/design.
Can be rephrased as Used by multiple NUS modules -- applied on 100+ Git repositories of 500+ students so far
.
You may want to have a schematic of the RepoSense workflow i.e., how instructors/students use RepoSense -- this will help you explain RepoSense to people who ask 'So, how does it work?'
Add some explanations of ramps, contribution bars?
I thought STePS require you to put the project number on the poster?

Something like this:
looks gud, maybe export as jpeg or pdf? libreoffice open alr, every messed up
Here is the improved version: poster_STEPS.pdf
Thanks @ongspxm for the help!
Getting better 👍
Be careful with Green-in-green. Printers have lower contrast than what you see in the soft copy. They could end up much less readable. Try taking an A4 size printout of the poster using a color printer.
Perhaps use an 'O'. It's not obvious that the image represents an O. Some people will read it as RepSense.
Make this a full screenshot? Otherwise the audience only see bits and pieces of the report view.
Use the same font here? Or change to a matching font. The current choice doesn't go with the other fonts.
Consider a more rectangular shape. Ovals waste lot of padding space.
This is not exactly a patch?
Limit the number of font sizes used.
This is the only place where instructors/students are mentioned.
Here is the updated version: steps_poster.pdf
👍 I'll give you some more comments on Monday.
Can you also upload the pptx file?
As this is the first time this project is producing a STePS poster, I've tried to help by doing some tweaks to the poster. You can take this file and tweak further or consider adopting some of these tweaks in your version. Main changes:
I have added the names and programming languages used: Reposense.poster.pptx
If everything is okay, the poster can be printed next week.
Looks good 👍
I think you need to order the Sponsors in the given order CashShield, Sea, Indeed, PSA, Ubisoft, GovTech, then SG Innovate.
Jun An
-> Tan Jun An
For confirmation, @yamidark
Triangle size -> ~s~Size of the contribution~Extra space~, Triangle frequency -> ~c~Contribution frequency
There's an extra space and capitalization is for consistency with the following line Contribution bar length -> Total LoC contributed
.
Changes applied: Reposense.poster.pptx Reposense.poster.pdf
haha, can upload both? haha paiseh i cannot see pptx without using sch comp
this looks amazing hahaha
Fix alignment: Reposense.poster.pdf Reposense.poster.pptx
These are not easy to fix (needs graphics expertise) ; just mentioning if anyone wants to try.
Three fonts used here:
Reduce the number of fonts and/or pick matching fonts. Look in PowerPoint default templates to find matching groups of fonts (those are designed by graphic designers).
In the logo, the letters should have the darker shades as background? The current one has the letters in the lighter quadrants. Not sure which one looks better though.
Logo has changed Reposense.poster.pptx Reposense.poster.pdf
I used Consola and Verdana matching fonts here: poster_updated.pdf
I have no further inputs. You guys can go ahead when you are happy with the current version.
@chelseyong can upload pptx version too?
