No 'activity indicator' on the home page

When I press the 'Student' button on the home page, it takes a while for the login page to load (this may be due to slow connection or a delay from Google side). During this time, there is no indicator of activity, giving the impression that something is wrong with the system. May be add a 'Contacting Google authentication system...' or something like that?
