Our original intention was to populate the files with empty ones so that the users of Duke Managers will have a clean interface, however we got the information that we have to populate the programs with sample files only for the testers (as told only at week 12) hence we did not mention it in the developer guide.
We will attempt to make these changes in the subsequent releases of Duke Manager:

When no data is found, Duke Manager will start off with an empty file like what the developer guide states.

Testers will be able to initiate testing by entering a command called generatesampledata which populates the text file with the sample datas for testing. This would be stated in Appendix E : Instructions for manual testing so that the testers will know what to do.

Bug statemtent:
In UG, developers said that if there is no existing file, app will create a new empty file to store data. However, when I launch the file at the first time, there was some existing data there, which is confusing.
