Hi Ashley -
Cedar Creek soils were collected in spring 2008 prior to fertilization. The first round of soils collection (Fall 2007) was sent wet and so was unusable as the paper bags melted.

Hi all,
Just wanted to give you a quick update on the Cedar Creek site.
-I collected soil samples yesterday from all 60 plots. They are in paper bags and air drying in my lab. I will send them to Eric late next week after I get back from a trip.
-The fencing is up, in part. We have put up 7ft high deer fence. The hardware cloth is bought and out there, but we don't have the labor to get it up until after I get back.
-I'm fertilizing today. I'm going to use the Cedar Creek sources of N, P, and K, and I'll be buying Micromax.
-I'll be taking pictures today too!
See ya,
Adam

what happened is that in 2007, they collected pre-treatment soils, but then they sat in paper bags in a sealed plastic bin, got all wet and mushy and weird.
so in 2008, they (Adam Kay) went out and re-sampled soils. Luckily they had not fertilized their plots yet, so this was technically year_trt = 0 still.
Right now this is listed as year = 2008, but for the sake of people merging data downstream, we should change this to 2007.
