@salitrov The Polish translation tsv files to be reviewed are:
The *.additions.tsv
files has already been merged in the the Polish_pl.tsv. Polish does not have a separate additions files at this time.
Thank you for these updates, Marc. Are these .tsv files you're linking to any different from the ones we initially started working with last month?
Are these .tsv files you're linking to any different from ... ?
There are some differences. In general, when a .tsv translation snapshot is posted, the intake processing evaluates differences, apply updates, generates a new normalized .tsv file, and reports details for review.
At a low level, the TsvRemapApple.swift
file shows part of the automated updating that the intake processing performs.
Here are some workflow options:
Full Speed Ahead. Have translators finish any given .tsv snapshot that is already started. Submit for snapshot processing when the snapshot is completed. And, then have the translators focus on any reported rows that need attention.
Incremental Iterations. Have translators submit a "work-in-progress" .tsv snapshot from time-to-time to have an updated .tsv generated. The translators then receive back an updated normalized .tsv file with a report of rows which need translation attention.
I'm OK with either of the above approaches. Having both approaches is "by design" to allow flexibility in software team and translation team relative timelines.
Here is the latest Polish translation. I believe it is the one initially submitted by the GitHub translator with edits made by my volunteer. Let me know if there's anything else we can do. Thank you. Polish Daily Dozen App Translation - Polish_pl.txt
@salitrov The translators can now review the live App Store page for iOS Daily Dozen with Polish:
iPhone screenshots are attached below in a zip file. The iPhone screenshots can be replaced with marketing images when available. Image specification for the two sets: 1242 x 2688 pixels (portrait) and 1242 x 2208 pixels (portrait).
@salitrov The changeset01
tsv files contain some addition lines which need translation to support the addition of Google Firebase Analytics to the application, translator recognition, and the cruciferous servings update.
@Hangur and @senpl two questions...
changeset01
files listed below?@marc-medley thanks for reaching out! On your points:
@Hangur ok. you can add your name during the translation. And, submit the translated tsv
files as .txt
or .zip
here.
@senpl please let us know you preference regarding being listed in the thank you credits.
thanks.
I have a small concern regarding the term Opt in
(setting_analytics_opt_in
). I provided a translation for it now, but it can be a different one depending on its context.
E.g. the term Opt in
can be translated as:
Currently I translated it as I confirm
(Potwierdzam).
Translations below:
@Hangur Below is an image of the "Analytics Op-in/Opt-out" user permission prompt as currently translated. Basically, the translation needs to inform and confirm the user's permission for analytic data collection. Any adjustments that you would make based on the image?
Also, NutritionFacts.org now has a Daily Dozen App Translation Volunteer application web page where you (or others) could apply to be part of the internal app translation team.
@marc-medley Thanks for the image - I don't see the need to do any other adjustments. It makes sense.
Nice, I will take a look at the Daily Dozen App Translation Volunteer application web page you mentioned.
@Hangur There is some additional text for the Daily Dozen applications which needs translation. The addition is described in "ChangeSet03: Serving Size (Suggested) & FAQ #30".
The needed translations are groups in the TSV change set v03 spreadsheets:
Please let me know if you are available to do the translation or if you have an questions. Thanks.
@marc-medley Sorry for the late reply. If this can wait till Friday (20.01.), I am super busy atm, I can jump on it then.
@Hangur "…can wait till Friday (20.01.)"? Yes, that would be OK. Thanks.
@marc-medley Sorry for the small delay. Here are the translated files:
English_US_pl.app.changeset03.txt
English_US_pl.store.changeset03.txt
P.S. - I haven't noticed previously that Polish hummus
was missing one m
, so this time it is with proper two m
- if somebody wondered why there is a change in how it is translated now.
@Hangur Thank you for the changeset03
submission.
There is another small set of 11 lines now ready for translation as changeset02
. ChangeSet v02 provides the text needed to support the data export and import of the iPhone Daily Dozen app.
The current plan is to have changeset02
and changeset03
in the same release with some database upgrades. You have time for this translation in the next couple weeks or so? Thanks again.
Hey @marc-medley , I will look into it tomorrow. I have a busy week ahead, but will try to finish the translation sooner rather than later :)
@Hangur no worries. When you have time. Thanks.
@marc-medley I have made a translation, I just wanted to ask about one thing before I upload the file. The history data
mentioned in the changeset02
would consist of what kind of data - can you tell me more about this functionality? Or is it the same as the Backup
functionality?
@Hangur history data
contains the timestamped values for the Daily Dozen checklist, the 21 Tweaks checklist and the 21 Tweaks morning/evening weight entry. What is not included are the application settings like daily reminder, imperial/metric units, etc.
So, in more detailed terms, it's not a "full applicition backup" which would include both daily data and user settings. However, history_data_…
is a "backup" of the daily data entries. Similarly, the Android app Backup
feature is only the daily data entries and does not include the user preference settings.
@marc-medley thanks for clarifying. Based on that I decided to leave the historic data
in Polish translation as just data
. It wouldn't make sense to add that extra information - it is clear enough.
This thread has been setup for
.tsv
Polish translation uploads to be processed for the Android and iOS Daily Dozen applications.
