Apple App Store Generated Chinese Section Issues: TC/SC mixture & non-ideographic punctuation

The Apple App Store Generated Chinese "Languages" (語言) section was found to have the following issues:

• Use of a Simplified Chinese character in Traditional Chinese
• Use of English comma punctuation ， instead of Chinese ideographic punctuation 、

Because the Languages (語言) section is autogenerated by Apple's App Store, we cannot change it directly. So, two bug reports were created and submitted to Apple.

Please describe the issue and what steps we can take to reproduce it

Review the 語言 (Language) section of the Hong Kong (HK), Macau (MO), and Taiwan (TW) product pages which are Traditional Chinese regions.

App Store generated Traditional Chinese "Language" section has 意大利 instead of 義大利. We did not expect to find the use of Simplified Chinese character 意 instead of the Traditional Chinese character 義 in a Traditional Chinese translation.

Found

FULLWIDTH COMMA U+FF0C "，" combined with SPACE U+0020 " " 俄文， 保加利亞文， 加泰羅尼亞文， 希伯來文， 德文， … etc.

Expected

IDEOGRAPHIC COMMA "、" (without any additional space) 俄文、保加利亞文、加泰羅尼亞文、希伯來文、德文、… etc.

This was found to be the case for both Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. (Our part of the Simplification Chinese translation/localization is scheduled to be completed in 1Q2024.)

Taiwan may be ok. Taiwan does have Traditional Chinese "義" in "義大利文"

From Apple:

We verified that both Hong Kong and Macau storefronts are using Cantonese transcript while the Taiwan storefront is using Chinese Traditional. It looks like the Cantonese translation for 意大利 is 意大利 indeed.

However, if you are able to provide any resources about the specification of the country/region name translation for Cantonese, please let us know

Our initial understanding was based on Apple's "App Store localizations" reference webpage which indicates that Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan all have default languages of "Chinese (Traditional)"

While the regional spoken language for Hong Kong and Macau is Cantonese, there are other references that the "official scripts" are Traditional Chinese for these two locations.
