Dear project owner.

This is same information which you saw at
http://artyomr.livejournal.com/179391.html.

I knew about WWWJDIC for Android from About section of Kanji Recognizer.
Kanji Recognizer was found in Android Market.

First I tried to find WWWJDIC in Android Market. But by “WWWJDIC” query
Kanji Recognizer was found only.
I'm using HTC Wildfire, Android 2.1, WiFi connection at my home, location was
Russia, Moscow.

Second I found WWWJDIC project site at code.google.com. There is QR code. I
scanned it. It was recognized as market://search?q=pname:org.nick.wwwjdic
But error message was shown "No results in Android Market for request
pname:org.nick.wwwjdic"

Finally I downloaded it from code.google page and installed it from PC.

Very good application. Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. As I said, it should be available, try searching using a
mobile connection. Do you have a SIM card in your phone? The Market determines
location based on carrier (from the SIM), so that might have something to do
with it. The QR code and package name you got are correct.

In any case, the current version is now available in downloads. Get that if you
were using the snapshot version. If you built from source, you already have the
latest and greatest.

I checked with mobile connection. Same result for searching in the Market
(Nagative).

> The Market determines location based on carrier (from the SIM)
Probably it's the reason. SIM-card is installed. But sometimes the phone
reports that time zone is not recognized. I'll ivestigate this issue.

Hi,

The market also does features filtering. More details here:

http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/market-filters.html

Your phone seems to have all the necessary features, so it should show up, but
maybe I am missing something. Can you try searching on some other brand of
phone so we can determine whether the problem is the location or something
else? (try using your friend's phone or a demo phone at a shop, etc.)

These are the features and permissions the app requests:

 * android.permission.INTERNET
 * android.permission.CAMERA
 * android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
 * android.hardware.camera
 * android.hardware.camera.autofocus

Your phone obviously has Internet access and an SD card, as well as autofocus,
so it should be supported, but apparently something's missing...

APKs now available on website. Not enough details, but probably not found due
to device filtering.

Seems the problem was fixed. I just used search of Market at my phone. Both
WWWJDIC (free and donate) were found. Same phone, same network. Well done.
