nvda don't read latin characters using japanese voice #12494

Good morning i use windows 10 home i'm learning japanese language I used to nvda japanese version 2019,2 with espeak ng and vocarizer japanese and j talk but I use nvda jp version 2020.4 , in order to reading English book with Vocarizer and Espeak ng, but i't can't read caracter english. nvda 2020.4 Jp read latin caracter such as R reading a alpha b bravo etc. before I use nvda jp 2019.2.1 i't can read english alphabet. and kanji I want to know how to this problem. thank you

Can't help here, but just wanted to say I also saw this. Multiple languages have this problem. I asked about it at nvda.groups.io, so hopefully one of these threads will get a helpful response.

@nuttapalsolo or @dparker21, do you have any updates with this issue? Has the experience changed with the latest version of NVDA?

Welcome @nuttapalsolo ,

Apologies for a late response. From what we understand, when using the eSpeak Japanese voice, latin characters are spelled out rather than announced.

In future, please fill out the issue template fully. This needs to be reported to eSpeak https://github.com/espeak-ng/espeak-ng/issues
