Steps to reproduce:
I report from a help request of an Italian user, so I'm not able to be much detailed (no direct access to the situation).
But I provide a log, that seems promising.
Actual behavior:
The user says that, when he opens a specific section of a switchboard software, NVDA freezes 2 times out of 3. The switchboard software continues to run, and, surprisingly, NVDA returns to work correctly if he closes the switchboard window.
Before a freeze he hears something like "wait cursor", while he hears something like "normal cursor" he knows all worked well.
Expected behavior:
NVDA should work always properly.
NVDA logs, crash dumps and other attachments:
Attached log.
The included COMError message is in Italian, but roughly means "An event failed to recall one of the subscribers".
System configuration
NVDA installed/portable/running from source:
Installed.
NVDA version:
2023.3.1.
Windows version:
Windows 10 22H2 (10.0.19045) workstation AMD64
Name and version of other software in use when reproducing the issue:
I don't know.

Does the issue still occur after restarting your computer?
Yes.
Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? If so, please report their behaviors.
User says he started on that PC with NVDA 2023.3, but the situation was the same.
If NVDA add-ons are disabled, is your problem still occurring?
Yes.
Does the issue still occur after you run the COM Registration Fixing Tool in NVDA's tools menu?
Yes.
