Reported by Diego on 2015-01-02 18:47 hello developers! I like to would suggest the implementation in the official package of NVDA the gestures and modes available on addon touch screen enhancements, and also introduce the typing mode to touch the letter and lift your finger.

Comment 1 by nvdakor on 2015-01-02 19:02 Hi Diego, The last suggestion - typing mode - is already present - while typing using touch keyboard, once you find the letter you want, just lift your finger unless you're suggesting iOS's stand typing experience. Thanks.

Hi,

Update: @MichaelDCurran is thinking about this and other enhancements.

Thanks.

Closing in favor of #16526.

CyrilleB79 commented 6 months ago

16526 has been closed without any modification as per https://github.com/nvaccess/nvda/issues/16526#issuecomment-2109950559.

It's not clear to me if the current issue was requesting anything more than what currently exists in NVDA (2024.2beta1).

@josephsl please reopen and explain why if needed.

Hi,

If only the original poster has a GitHub account (I hope that person does)...

A major part of this issue is bringing touch getures from Enhanced Touch Gestures add-on such as four finger gestures to toggle input help mode, reporting current focus/navigator object, synth settings ring mode, among others. Since these are part of the add-on and the OP has requested their inclusion in NVDA Core which hasn't happened yet, this issue is still valid unless the community believes it should remain an add-on. Reopening.

Thanks.
