Report "has notes" on slides when navigating with up and down arrow in MS PowerPoint #8049

Open Adriani90 opened 6 years ago

Adriani90 commented 6 years ago

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open MS PowerPoint
  2. Create some slides, some with notes, some without.

Expected behavior:

NVDA should Report "has notes" when navigating with up and down arrow when focus is on the slide.

When focus enters the slide, report "has notes"

Actual behavior:

NVDA does not Report when a slide has notes. Jaws reports it properly, exactly like in MS Outlook when an E-Mail has an attachment.

System configuration:

NVDA version: 2017.4

NVDA Installed or portable: Both

Other information:

Windows version: Windows 8.1

Name and version of other software in use when reproducing the issue: MS PowerPoint 2010

Other questions:

Does the issue still occur after restarting your PC? Yes

Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? No

In @Adriani90's report above, "notices" should be "notes." The report title and body should be corrected to reflect this change.

Hi, Is there an implementation date to look forward to for this issue?

I ask the same question as it is difficult to know, in a slide show, if a slide has notes or not. I think it is not very helpful to type nvda+shift+s when moving to next slide in order to find out if the slide has notes or not.
