Is Pulse Rate a quality of Pulse (a bodily feature) #31

Can we model 'Pulse' (a bodily feature, defined as 'a throbbing caused by a 
wave of blood traveling 
along the arteries caused by left ventricular contraction') as having the 
qualities - Pulse rate, Pulse 
rhythm, volume etc? Some of these are qualities can be measured quantitatively 
(rate) and others 
qualitatively  (rhythm is described as normal, arrhythmia etc and volume is 
measure as thready, 
good, bounding etc). 

Can we generalize from this on things like rate (heart rate, respiratory rate), 
color (hair color, skin 
color, color of the eyes), length (height, circumference of the head, 
inter-orbital distance), area (of 
the mitral valve, pylorus) and treat them all as qualities?

This is an issue for the vital signs ontology.  Rates will be handled using the 
temporal derivative quality technique described here: 
http://code.google.com/p/bfo/wiki/Bfo2DeterminableDeterminate
