Peter Robinson says:
>3) Genetic Disorder =def. A disorder whose etiology
>involves an abnormality in the nucleotide sequence of
>an organisms genome.
>==>> There are genetic disorders that involve only methylation of
>DNA such as Prader-Willi syndrome, in some forms of which the

Does the addition of epigenetic disorder address this issue? If so, then we
could
close it.

During 11/19/09 teleconference, it was determined that epigenetic disorder
covers
this case, and that this is not an issue with 'genetic disorder'. If possible,
we
should strive to eliminate the negative clause (2) in 'epigenetic disorder'=def
A
disorder whose etiology involves (1) a modification to the patient's genomic DNA
which leads to alterations in the normal expression pattern of the genome, but
is (2)
NOT a change in the nucleotide sequence. Methylation is not a change in
nucleotide
sequence...are there others?
