Disjoint subtypes in ogms.owl #46

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The children of bodily feature of a patient (manifestation of a disease,
sign, symptom, phenotype) should not be disjoint OWL classes in ogms.owl.

Alan, in converting from OBO to OWL is there a way to relax the assumption
that all subtypes are disjoint?

There are currently no statements of disjoint classes in the OWL. In OBI we
generate disjoints based on some
rules (implemented as lisp code). Going forward for OGMS we should consider how
we want to either choose to
explicitly assert disjoints, or leave some sort of annotation that the script
can pick up and use to generate
disjoints where appropriate.
