The current definition of treatment (A processual entity whose completion is 
hypothesized (by a healthcare provider) to alleviate the signs and symptoms 
associated with a disorder) would exclude those treatments whose objective is 
to cure a disease.  I would also argue that we do not treat to alleviate signs 
or symptoms.  I would propose the following definition - A treatment is a 
processual entity whose completion is hypothesized (by a healthcare provider) 
to eliminate all or part of a disorder.

Treatment also includes palliative care as well as symptomatic relief such as 
for pain, allergy, congestion, etc. Rather than narrowing treatment, I think it 
should be broadened to include the goal of curing disease
