I think commitizen has the right idea in offering a badge for maintainers to use to indicate to developers some of the development styles inherent to the repo such as commitizen and gitflow.

Example:

Request:

Prepare at least one badge style w/ "GitFlow friendly" like commitizen
Add the badge(s) to the readme so people use them
