I believe it should remain Odessa in English and French. Many of us do.
The only thing that I disagree with Ukrainian orthography. I use Lyiv, Kyiv and Luhansk but Odessa because of the Greek history of the word and the pronunciation in French. It also just looks wrong. Nothing to do with Russia. https://t.co/u6Wez4JosM

Odessa is the Greek spelling.

Odessa is Ukrainian and always will be but the Ukrainian spelling looks weird in English and produces the wrong sound in French. Ukrainian Toponyms should be used for Lviv, Kyiv, Luhansk etc.
Odesa is fine in Ukrainian, but wrong in other languages. https://t.co/fWoxatVjvY
Similar to a few other recent name translation changes... The Ukrainian city of Odesa should have 1
s
when translated from Ukrainian versus 2s
when translated from Russian. Ensure the default and English & most other romanized name translations have 1s
, and the Ukrainian and Russian have correct values.
