Completed Task 1 & 5 that is able to support refreshing refined search #10

Please review changes made (take note that I commented out the threading because it produced a bug

Since the threading doesn't work, it seems appropriate to comment it out first for now. The rest of the additions are just the necessary functions for refining search.
