Multiminer and Slushpool - what am I doing wrong? #353

hello,

I just started my mining journey 7 days ago so I believe that makes me an infant to this. Despite all the reading and research I'm doing (trial and error with most of this), I cannot seem to get a good grasp of what slushpool is telling me. I know I have much more to learn but I think I am doing some things extremely wrong.
I am only running 1 gpu for now until i get a better understanding of this. my 'Worker States' seems to be in "off" all the time and my apparent 'estimated payout period' is constantly telling me something ridiculous like 88 years... I just feel like everything on my dashboard is reading very low and it might be because I have things set up wrong or that what I'm running is horrible.

I have attached a screenshot for an illustration of what I am typing about.

Just trying to reach out for a little (or a lot) help. thank you

slushpool

If you are mining with a single GPU, even if it's a top of the line 1080ti, that's probably about right. BTC is dominated by ASIC mining now (i.e. BitMain's AntMiners). My older S7's are going about 4.7TH/s and it was almost a month for a payout. GPU mining is probably better for some of the other coins at this point.

already sluchpool mention in they help section here you can read here https://slushpool.com/help/get-started/mining_beginners First of all you need specialized hardware (ASIC miner)

Do not even try mining without an ASIC miner. Neither your CPU/GPU nor your Smart phone is sufficient for mining anymore. It is considered dead and unprofitable due to low efficiency (hash rate vs. power consumption).
