Nocs disappear #10

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I ask Nocs to remember by password
2. I use key to encrypt my file
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
After some time of using, I can't start the program this morning. Even I
uninstall and reboot my machine, then reinstall again. The Nocs window
display nothing. Only prompt me to input my encryption key. No matter, I
input correct or incorrect key, nothing is shown

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.9.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Try removing the gss_notepad file in your Google Docs account. Nocs will
re-generate
the file. Did you have any saved files in the first place?

In fact, I have reinstall window,
then the problem is solved for some time.

However, after one month, the same problem come back.
I have tried the following step.
- uninstall Nocs
- remove all nocs entry from regedit
- run clean in ccleaner
- restart
- reinatall dotnetfx35setup.exe
    - select repair
- reinstall Nocs
=> still not work,

My problem is, it seems that Nocs can remember my login account somewhere (even
though I have uninstall it and remove everything.)

Oh, sorry again.
forget to mention.
I have tried to remove the file gss_notepad, the problem can't be solved.

However, as I have already store some information in Nocs. I undelete the file
from
trash now.

One more thing, it seems that the gss_notepad file is not generated after I
start the
program. So I suspect that the Nocs program is not start to connect with the
google
account yet.

The preferences info is stored in Isolated Storage, which is located usually at
\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data
or..
\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data

This data isn't removed by the default uninstall process so that's why you're
account
data is found even after uninstall.

About the gss_notepad re-generation, there were some problems that I had myself
similar to this, but removing/renaming the file in Google Docs usually helped.
Might
be related to proxies also, which aren't yet implemented.

In any case, try out Nocs 2.0 which doesn't use Spreadsheets at all :)
