Greater control of IMAP/SMTP — multiple SMTP servers, SMTP without IMAP, IMAP without SMTP #2316

This is just a suggestion, not a real bug After trying to configure my account with only SMTP settings, it seems to be absolutely necesary to fill IMAP config either. I only have a SMTP server info, so I filled it with random staff. It seems to be working, but it would be mutch better if user could chose between IMAP/SMTP account or both. (If your lazy and fuzzy as me, it would be nice to have server auto-detection method like Thunderbird)

All of the other things about Nylas are great!

Hey! Thanks for reporting this—we've gotten a variety of requests for different IMAP and SMTP configurations, and I'm going to start consolidating them here.

Setting up a 'send only' account for use with something like mailgun would be ideal.

:+1: to consolidated issue #308 here.

I currently receive and send email via multiple Gmail accounts all in my one main account. The current alias feature in Nylas works ok as I can send email from my other accounts as the "sender," but what I really need is to send email from those accounts not as an alias but with separate SMTP settings and credentials.

As just an alias, when emailing from my second account the Gmail headers show the email being sent as a permitted sender from my main account. I'd love for Nylas to just send these emails as if they're coming from my second account. This would be a total game changer for me and I'd immediately switch off gmail.com

I kinda need to add IMAP only account (no SMTP). Any update on this?
