Feature request: ability to turn off repeated view tracking #2831

Feature request:

Currently, Nylas tracks subsequent opens, not just the first open.

The problem I find is that many people will open your email multiple times that day, and often again the next day and the next day and so on. These are likely all the people who don't use the "inbox zero" approach and are constantly sifting through their email every day and previewing your email for a fraction of a second, which triggers the pixel and registers as another open.

The result is that my dropdown box in Nylas tells me when someone has opened this email every time. I might see over 100 notifications each day in Nylas, but 90% of them are the same old people re-opening old emails again. Which is a big waste of notifications. This might be of interest to some Nylas users, but I'm personally only interested in whether the recipient reads the email once.

So my feature request is a checkbox in Preferences to turn off repeated view tracking. That would be great!

Thanks for your time.

What I wanna know is why it counts opens from myself too. . . i.e. if I open the mail I sent in Nylas, it counts as an open in view tracking.

@ajcollett There is a new issue regarding it #3249.
